Amazon FBA Truckload Delivery: What Sellers Need Before Booking a Carrier

An Amazon fulfillment-center delivery is not simply a truck arriving at a warehouse address. Sellers sending palletized freight need an approved shipment plan, correct identifiers and a carrier that can comply with the receiving requirements for that specific destination. The latest Amazon Seller Central instructions should govern the actual booking.

Complete the inbound shipment plan first

Create or confirm the relevant shipment in Seller Central and retain its shipment IDs, Amazon reference IDs, destination details and expected shipment contents. Identify whether it is a partnered or non-partnered carrier move because the booking responsibilities differ. Do not book against an assumed warehouse address before the finalized shipping plan assigns the destination.

Compare the finalized shipment with the pallet inventory. Missing or inconsistent shipment information can interrupt appointment scheduling and receiving.

Prepare pallets and a complete freight document set

Have the seller verify Amazon’s current pallet, carton-label and bill-of-lading requirements for the shipment type. Record all shipment or reference IDs that need to appear on the shipping paperwork; identify the number, dimensions and weight of pallets. For full truckload moves, confirm requirements for trailer seals and recording seal numbers.

Palletizing the product does not automatically meet Amazon’s receiving standards. Check package condition, correct labels and permitted handling-unit configuration before release.

Coordinate the actual carrier appointment

Determine who is responsible for requesting the appointment through the appropriate carrier portal. Confirm the destination, appointment status, trailer requirements and delivery window before the truck heads to the fulfillment center. The carrier should know which IDs belong to the physical load, particularly when multiple seller shipments share one trailer.

For official changes, review Amazon’s truckload delivery instructions in Seller Central. A quote is not confirmation that an Amazon dock slot has been secured.

Before requesting transportation, confirm

  • Final FBA shipment plan and correct fulfillment center
  • Amazon reference IDs, shipment IDs and BOL
  • Labels, pallet builds, total weight and trailer conditions
  • Partnered versus non-partnered appointment responsibility
  • Confirmed appointment, receiving cutoff and site contact

For Amazon-specific receiving rules, see the official Amazon Seller Central truckload-delivery instructions. Always use the current instructions for the exact fulfillment program and site.
