Nonalcoholic Beverage Freight: Plan Pallet Weight, Stability, and Delivery

A beverage order can reach an equipment weight limit before it fills the available floor space. At the same time, bottles, cans, and cartons need a loading arrangement that protects the packaging. Build the freight request from the prepared pallets and the product owner’s transport instructions.

Use packaged pallet weights

Provide the number of pallets, outside dimensions, and weight of each type. Include packaging and pallet weight rather than relying only on the volume of liquid sold.

Identify mixed pallets and differences between product sizes. An average pallet weight can hide a much heavier group that affects how the carrier plans distribution inside the trailer.

Check stability and stacking rules

Ask the supplier to confirm approved pallet patterns, wrapping, top-load limits, and any restrictions on double stacking. Packaging that supports warehouse storage may need a separate review for the proposed transport conditions.

Disclose glass containers, display-ready packaging, and mixed case heights. The carrier needs to understand the prepared units and restraint requirements before the load arrives at the dock.

Get written product conditions

Ask the product owner whether the shipment needs temperature control, freeze protection, or protection from heat. Do not assume all shelf-stable beverages tolerate the same transportation conditions.

If a controlled service is required, define the range, handling instructions, and exception contact. State those requirements in the quote request so that a dry-van proposal is not mistaken for temperature-controlled service.

Reconcile the load with the receiving order

Confirm purchase orders, pallet counts, delivery references, appointments, and unloading procedures. Check whether the customer requires specific pallets or separate identification by SKU or lot.

Request the quote with the prepared pallet list, product requirements, shipping date, and receiving window. Have the carrier review equipment suitability and weight distribution; pallet space alone does not establish that the full order can travel on one truck.
