An industrial compressed-air system may include a compressor, receiver tank, dryer, filters, and separate controls. Some travel as one assembly; others require multiple shipping units. Determine that configuration with qualified personnel before requesting transportation.

Identify the equipment that will actually move

List each major unit, its prepared dimensions and weight, and any skid or crate. Include detachable accessories and spare parts in the piece count.

For a combined assembly, verify whether the manufacturer approves transporting it together. A frame that supports normal operation does not automatically establish a lifting method for the whole system.

Assign shutdown and preparation

Have qualified personnel isolate, depressurize, disconnect, and prepare the equipment under applicable manufacturer and site procedures. Identify any fluid, battery, fuel, or other condition that affects transportation acceptance.

Do not expect the driver to determine whether the system is safe to disconnect or lift. Tell the broker when preparation will be complete and who can confirm release.

Use equipment-specific lifting instructions

Obtain the approved lifting points, support locations, and orientation limits for each unit. Atlas Copco publishes machine-loading guidance, but the instructions for the actual model and assembly must govern preparation and handling.

Describe the available forklift or crane at both facilities and who operates it. Separate equipment removal from the building, truck loading, and final placement in the service scope.

Protect connections and trace components

Have the service team specify protection for openings, controls, and exposed connections. Label separate dryers, receivers, and accessories to match the receiving inventory.

Request a quote with the complete prepared list, origin and destination access, handling instructions, and schedule. Confirm whether delivery ends at the receiving area or requires additional rigging; installation and startup should be assigned to the appropriate specialists.
