Commercial washers and dryers should be quoted as prepared freight, not simply as appliances. A used machine still connected inside a laundry room presents a different job from a crated unit waiting at a dock. Defining that difference helps establish what the transportation quote must cover.

Separate removal work from truck transportation

Identify whether the equipment is new, used, or being relocated. Confirm who will disconnect utilities, release the unit from its installed position, and move it to the loading area. Assign that work to qualified personnel before setting a ready date.

At destination, distinguish unloading from indoor placement, anchoring, utility connections, and startup. If the project includes several contractors, give each one a named contact and a clear handoff point. Do not assume all of those services are part of a standard freight delivery.

Obtain preparation instructions for the exact model

Record manufacturer, model, and serial number for every unit. Ask the manufacturer or qualified distributor what transport preparation is required, including any model-specific restraints or braces. Requirements can differ between machine designs.

Measure the shipment after packaging is defined

Provide each prepared unit’s length, width, height, and weight, including its skid, crate, or other protective packaging. Identify separate bases, controls, payment systems, and accessory cartons on the packing list.

Clarify whether stacked equipment will travel together or as separate units, using the manufacturer’s approved arrangement. Photograph the prepared freight. The truck selection should reflect that arrangement, not just the dimensions of equipment while installed.

Check access on both sides of the move

Confirm loading and unloading methods, facility hours, and any restrictions on truck access. If indoor movement is included in the requested scope, provide door and pathway information for the responsible machinery-moving team to review.

For a quote, send the equipment list, packaged measurements, lane, dates, photographs, and the agreed service boundaries. A laundromat renovation also needs a plan for the old equipment: identify its separate destination instead of assuming the delivery truck will remove it.
